My name is Ian, and I have been working as a technician in the motorhome industry since 1991. I started at Brownhills and worked there for ten years, finishing as workshop shift supervisor and team leader for accessory fitting. After Brownhills I worked in Canada for three years on American and Canadian Motorhomes and Trailers. Kind of cold in the winter but they make up for it by sending you on lots of training courses in nice warm hotels. When we came back from Canada I worked for RDH in Beeston until they went bancrupt after which I set up on my own with a partner as Rvtex for four and a half years until 2009 when we went our seperate ways and Motorhome tech was born into an uncertain world. I have been very lucky during my career to go on loads of training courses, which have stood me in good stead as I am now confident working on all the common heaters, boilers and fridges be they Truma, Alde or Dometic and I lost count of the awnings, bike racks and sattelite systems I have fitted, years ago, not to mention all the other accessories. So now working on motorhomes and caravans is all I am fit for.
